Product Update: Security Profiles Permissions

  • Updated

We're excited to share that you can now request to add specific roles for security teams in RecordPoint.

Upon request, we will provide access to three additional roles in in Administration > Security Profiles:

  • Manage Security Profiles
  • View Security Profiles
  • Manage Saved Searches

Overview of permissions:

Manage Security Profiles Grants users access to the Security Profiles section in the Administration area. Users can edit and assign members to security profiles and edit access control for security profiles. Note: to gain access to Data Trimming (ABAC), users must also be assigned the Manage Saved Searches permission.
View Security Profiles Grants users access to view the Security Profiles section in the Administration area. Users cannot edit or assign security profiles.
Manage Saved Searches Designed to be used in conjunction with Manage Security Profiles permission. Users with access to Manage Saved Searches can create and edit saved searches which enables them to apply data trimming to security profiles.

Use case: managing access without undertaking records management
For security teams who want to control permissions and information access without having the ability to view or edit records or documents themselves, apply Manage Security Profiles and Manage Saved Searches.

Upon log in, users with the Manage Security Profiles and Manage Saved Searches will see the dashboard:

They can navigate to the Administration > Security Profiles section to edit and apply Security Profiles.

Specifically, the user has access to view and edit each tab in the Security Profile (Details, Members, Access Control and Data Trimming). Note: ensure your user has access to Manage Saved Searches to edit Data Trimming and apply it to Security Profiles.

For more information, see Security Profiles.
