The View Dataset page provides a complete overview of a registered dataset and its governance status. This includes associated metadata, risk assessments, compliance documentation, and review activity. From this page, authorized users can take actions such as editing the dataset, running assessments, or tracking approval.
Available Actions
Edit Dataset – Opens the editable form to update dataset fields. Only users with appropriate permissions can make changes.
Delete Dataset – Removes the dataset from the system. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Approve – Marks the dataset as approved and updates its approval status.
Reject – Marks the dataset as rejected, indicating it does not meet governance or compliance criteria.
Run Risk Assessment – Opens the risk assessment module to evaluate the dataset for privacy, fairness, provenance, or other risk factors.
Create Risk – Logs a new risk item related to the dataset. This is useful for capturing concerns identified during assessment or review.
Dataset Tabs
Each tab below links to a detailed view of different aspects of the dataset:
Details – Displays core dataset metadata including ownership, risk level, lifecycle stage, data sensitivity, documentation availability, and usage purpose.
Quality & Validation – Lists known data quality issues, validation summaries, and the status of fairness or bias assessments.
Operations – Captures operational elements such as downstream dependencies, review frequency, and any monitoring practices in place.
Security & Compliance – Records security controls (access, encryption), sharing restrictions, and retention policies tied to data governance obligations.
Risk Assessments – Shows all risk assessments linked to the dataset. Users can view, edit, or continue in-progress assessments.
Audit Trail – Provides a time-stamped log of changes and actions taken on the dataset, including what was changed, who made the change, and when.
Comments – Enables collaboration and discussion around the dataset through a comment thread.
Notes
The dataset must be approved before it can be used in production or linked to an AI system.
Tabs may appear empty if no data has been entered yet.
Multiple users can collaborate on the same dataset across tabs depending on permissions.
Risk assessments and audit history are key inputs for governance and compliance teams.
